The operation and/or parking of a motor vehicle on the Concordia University WI campus is a privilege given to all students and employees. Campus parking lots are designated by the letters A through Q. Review the Campus Parking Map here. The rules and regulations that govern this privilege are as follows:
Campus Safety is responsible for traffic control and parking enforcement on campus. Campus Safety may revise the parking rules at anytime based on the needs of the University. Parking lots may be closed periodically based on the needs of the University.
The speed limit throughout the campus is 15 MPH.
All students and employees bringing a vehicle to campus must register it with the Campus Safety Office.
All students are required to register their vehicles annually at the beginning of the Fall semester. Employee parking permits are non-expiring. To register your vehicle, log into the portal at my.cuw.edu and follow the “Register My Auto” link on the “Student Services” or “Employee” tab. To register your vehicle you will need to know the vehicle make, model, color, year and license plate number.
After registering online, your parking permit can be picked up at the Campus Safety Office, located in lower Rincker Hall, room R023. The Campus Safety Office is open 24 hours/day. Student parking permits must be affixed to the outside of the rear window on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Employee parking permits hang from the rearview mirror with the University logo and permit number facing outward.
Students and employees may register a maximum of two vehicles but are only allowed to have one vehicle on campus at a time. In the event you are found to have more than one vehicle on campus, the additional vehicle(s) may be towed and stored off campus at the owner’s expense. Resident students are permitted to have an automobile and a motorcycle on campus at the same time provided the motorcycle is parked in the designated motorcycle parking areas.
Resident students keeping a vehicle on campus will be charged a $200 parking fee each academic year. There is no additional fee for registering more than one vehicle, however, students may only have one vehicle on campus at a time. The parking fee will be charged to the students university account after the permit has been issued.
Concordia University parking permits are color coded as follows:
- Blue: Faculty/Staff
- Green: Commuter Student
- Red: Resident Parking Structure
- Black: Resident Surface Lot
Resident and Commuter students are required to register their vehicles and obtain a new parking permit each academic year. Parking permits are non-transferable.
Parking Lot Restrictions
- Resident students who have been issued a red PARKING STRUCTURE PERMIT must park in the parking structure at all times.
- Resident students who have earned 90 or more credits will be issued a black SURFACE LOT PERMIT.
- Students with a SURFACE LOT PERMIT may park in any campus parking lot between 6am-10pm.
- Overnight parking (10pm-6am) for students with a SURFACE LOT PERMIT is only permitted in Parking Lots: F, M, N, P or Q.
- Commuter students will be issued a green COMMUTER PARKING PERMIT and may park in any parking lot except lots M, N, P or the parking structure.
- Faculty and Staff members will be issued a blue FACULTY/STAFF PERMIT and may park in any
parking lot except lots M, N, P or the parking structure.
Students and employees bringing a non-registered vehicle onto campus must obtain a temporary permit from the Campus Safety Office (Rincker 023). Resident students requesting a temporary parking permit may only park in the parking structure.
Students and employees are not permitted to park in designated Guest Parking spaces.
There are several areas on campus reserved for those with state-issued handicapped/disabled parking permits. Those in need of special parking arrangements due to a temporary medical condition should direct their request to the Director of Campus Safety.
Overnight parking restrictions are in effect from 12:00AM until 5:00AM daily. Employees and Commuter Students leaving a vehicle on campus overnight must notify Campus Safety by calling (262) 243-4344 or via email: email@example.com.
Motorcycles must be registered with Campus Safety and must be parked in the designated areas of campus. Motorcycles may not be parked in the same parking space as a vehicle. Motorcycle parking is available in Lots H, I and N and the Parking Structure. Resident students with a motorcycle must park in the designated motorcycle area in the parking structure.
Loading / Unloading Parking
Students or employees needing short term parking to load or unload their vehicle may park in the designated 15 minute parking spaces only while loading or unloading their vehicles. 15 minute parking spaces are available in Lots H, F, J, K, M, N, Q.
- Handicapped spaces are reserved for persons with appropriate placard and/or plates only.
- The speed limit within the parking structure is eight miles per hour (8 MPH). All drivers must follow the directional signage and markings while in the parking structure.
- Vehicles must be parked in one parking space and in the center of that space. Vehicles occupying more than one parking space may be issued a parking citation and towed at the owner’s expense.
- If you are found responsible for causing damage to the parking structure or equipment, any other person’s vehicle or property or for violation of any of these rules, you may have your parking privileges revoked and be subject to a police investigation and/or restitution.
- Campus Safety reserves the right to close/block exits and entrances at any time to accommodate large crowds and provide a safe environment for pedestrians. We also reserve the right to relocate permit holders as needed.
- There is no smoking or loitering allowed in the parking structure. Once your vehicle is parked, you are expected to exit the parking structure.
- Resident student guests are not allowed to use the parking structure. All guests must register at the Campus Safety Office with the resident student present. Guests will then be instructed where to park.
- Vehicles determined to be not in operable condition, must be removed off campus within three days or they may be towed at the owner’s expense.
- Use of the parking structure for automotive repairs of any type is prohibited.
- Use of skateboards, bicycles, rollerblades, scooters, etc. in the parking structure is prohibited.
Concordia University reserves the right to tow any vehicle from university property for the following violations:
- Parked in an area designated as a fire lane.
- Parked blocking access to a trash dumpster.
- Parked blocking access to the loading dock.
- Parked in a handicap space without proper permit.
- Parked in a posted "No Parking" zone.
- A vehicle determined to be abandoned, a hazard or an obstruction.
- A vehicle in violation of any campus policy.
- Any vehicle not removed from a parking lot closed for a special event or snow removal.
- Repeated violations of the parking rules and regulations which has resulted in three (3) or more parking citations per academic year which were either paid or upheld upon appeal.
The vehicle owner will be responsible for all costs associated with the towing and storage of their vehicle.
Vehicles parked in violation of the above rules may be issued a citation for the violation every 24 hours. Habitual violators will be referred to the Office of Student Life for a violation of the Student Conduct Code. Habitual violator is defined as an individual receiving three (3) or more parking or traffic citations per academic year that have not been dismissed upon appeal.
Students/Employees whose registered vehicle is issued a citation for a parking/traffic violation will receive an email in their 威尼斯游戏 email account and the fine will be immediately charged to their university account. Citation fines must be paid in the Cashiers Office located in Luther Hall room LU104. Failure to pay a citation within 14 calendar days from the date of issuance will result in a late fee being assessed in addition to the fine for the violation.
Parking citation appeals may be submitted online by logging into the portal at my.cuw.edu. Appeal forms are available by following the “Register My Auto” link on the Campus Life, Employee and Student tabs. Appeals must be submitted within 14 calendar days from the date the citation was issued. After your appeal is reviewed, you will receive an email notification as to the disposition of the citation.
Campus Safety Officers will provide an escort to or from any parking lot on campus to the closest building entrance for any student or employee upon request. Students requesting an escort to the parking structure should meet Campus Safety Officers at the entrance to Albrecht/Wartburg. Escorts can be requested by calling Campus Safety at (262) 243-4344 or Ext: 4344 from an on campus phone.
Concordia university assumes no responsibility for losses by fire, theft, collision, or otherwise, to any vehicle or its contents occurring anywhere on campus. If your vehicle is found in violation of any of these rules and regulations, a parking citation may be issued and/or the vehicle towed off campus at your expense including applicable storage fees. Concordia university reserves the right to modify or change parking rules and regulations or void parking permits as deemed necessary.
